Derde plaats CL-poule levert w?l UEFA-Cup plaats op

In tegenstelling tot wat De Telegraaf vanmorgen tussen neus en lippen beweerde, levert de derde plaats in de groepsfase van de Champions League wel degelijk een plaats in de UEFA-Cup op.
In de regulations van de UEFA voor het seizoen 2004/2005 staat het volgende:
4.06
"The eight group-winners and eight runners-up of the group stage qualify for the first knock-out round. The clubs that finish this stage in third position in their group move into the third round of the current UEFA Cup. The clubs that finish this stage in fourth position in their group are eliminated."
